Description
In 1989, the City of La Sarre received the designation of “Forestry Capital of Canada” from the Canadian Forestry Association. It is the first city in Quebec to receive this honour. For the occasion, the Forestry Interpretation Centre was built to pay tribute to the artisans of the forest. In 2011, it was ravaged by a fire, but due to the attachment of Lasarrois, a new log building was built in 2012 and became operational in 2013. The Forestry Interpretation Center is located in the same building as the tourist information office.
